What is Messianic Judaism?
Messianic Judaism is a biblically based expression that is rooted in the original Hebraic character of New Covenant faith in Messiah Yeshua. This original expression was the mode of New Covenant life in the early Ecclesia as the first believers were all Jewish.
As we have witnessed a revival of Messianic understanding in recent years—today there are hundreds of Messianic congregations throughout the world—more and more Jewish and non-Jewish believers are embracing this original model with great enthusiasm and passion, especially its relevance to New Covenant faith. Its powerful bridging effect upon the gap between Jew and Gentileand Gentile church and Messianic ministries, has been extraordinary not only upon the landscape of the Body of Messiah, but a deep impact upon the Jewish community at large.
Many think that Messianic Judaism is exclusively for Jews. This couldn't be further from the truth and is a great misconception.
Messianic Judaism is a standing invitation to Gentile believers to seize an opportunity to turn the clock back 1,900 years to what New Covenant Faith was in those formative years. To observe the Biblical feasts and celebrations as Yeshua and the early believers did. To appropriate for their lives the Biblical rhythms and cycles that God Intended, as it introduces a lost dimension to New Covenant Faith, bringing "Jew and Gentiles" into a Biblical, original and intentional expression.
In addition; Messianic Judaism provides Gentile believers with a vital setting for their role in reaching the Jewish people with the truth of Messiah. This is what God intended as seen in:
Romans 11:11 "Again I ask: Did they stumble so as to fall beyond recovery? Not at all! Rather, because of their transgression, salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel envious."
Rom 15:27-28 "They were pleased to do it, and indeed they owe it to them. For if the Gentiles have shared in the Jews' spiritual blessings, they owe it to the Jews to share with them their material blessing."
