5787 — THE PREGNANT YEAR OF FINE GOLD

A Prophetic Word: The Golden Hanukkah, the Refining of the Bride, and the Coming Weight of God's Glory

I believe we have entered a remarkable season in which the Holy Spirit is preparing something precious, refining His Bride, and calling His people to make room for a greater revelation of His glory.

As we entered the Hebrew year 5787 (תשפ״ז), beginning at sundown on September 11, 2026, something was stirring deeply in my spirit. Even while Bonnie and I were occupied with the Striking the Ground revival gathering in Vineland, New Jersey, September 10–12, I sensed there was something significant about this new Hebrew year. Two discoveries especially captured my attention.

·      First, 5787 is a Hebrew leap year, traditionally called Shanah Me'uberet—a pregnant year.

·      Second, the final two letters of the Hebrew year, פז (Paz), form a biblical Hebrew word meaning fine gold. Together, these present a compelling prophetic picture. A PREGNANT YEAR OF FINE GOLD!

One speaks of something being carried and prepared for birth. The other speaks of something precious undergoing refinement. The Lord is revealing a season in which His Bride is being refined for what He is preparing to bring forth.

1. PAZ — THE REFINING OF FINE GOLD:

The final two Hebrew letters of 5787 are:

  • Pey (פ) — Numerical value: 80

  • Zayin (ז) — Numerical value: 7

Together, they spell Paz (פז), meaning fine or refined gold. Psalm 19:10 declares: "More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb."

Before entering full-time ministry, I worked in a gold refinery, where I personally worked on gold being subjected to intense heat until impurities rose to the surface and could be removed. I as the refiner had to carefully watch the crucible. That experience gave me a lasting understanding of Malachi 3:3, where the Lord is described as a refiner and purifier. The fire does not destroy what is precious. It removes what prevents its purity from being revealed.

I believe the Holy Spirit is bringing His people into a deeper season of consecration. We have often pursued power without purity, manifestations without maturity, and anointing without sufficient reverence for His holiness. But God is not simply preparing His people to experience greater manifestations. He is making His Bride radiant with His own glory!

Ephesians 5:25–27 reveals that Yeshua is cleansing and sanctifying His Bride to present her to Himself glorious, without spot or wrinkle. Radiant speaks of glory, spot speaks of the world, wrinkle speaks of weakness and double mindedness.

Second Corinthians 3:18 tells us that as we behold His glory, we are transformed into His image, from glory to glory. The Bride becomes radiant not merely by being cleansed of what is unholy, but by being filled with the glory of the One who is holy. This is the heart of the Glory Walk in these last days.

2. SHANAH ME'UBERET — THE PREGNANT YEAR

The Hebrew calendar is lunisolar, meaning it follows both the cycles of the moon and the seasons determined by the sun. But seven times within a nineteen-year cycle, an additional month is inserted to keep the biblical feasts aligned with their appointed seasons. The Hebrew year 5787 is the eleventh year of this cycle and contains thirteen months rather than twelve.

Jewish tradition calls such a year Shanah Me'uberet, or a pregnant year. Consider the spiritual picture. A pregnant woman carries life that is developing within her, even before the world can see it. There is hidden growth, preparation, and an appointed time for delivery. Likewise, not everything God is preparing becomes immediately visible. There is a difference between conception and delivery, between receiving a promise and witnessing its fulfillment.

I believe the Lord is calling His people to recognize that a season of hidden preparation is not a season of divine inactivity. Something precious is developing while He prepares the vessel to carry it. Spiritual pregnancy requires patience. Refinement requires surrender. Both demand trust in the Lord.

3. PREGNANT YEARS AND THE HISTORY OF ISRAEL

I was struck by several important moments in history that occurred during Hebrew leap (pregnant) years.

  1. 5708 — 1948: The Rebirth of Israel: On May 14, 1948, the modern State of Israel declared independence. After centuries of persecution and dispersion, Jewish sovereignty was restored in our ancestral homeland. Isaiah 66:8 asks, "Shall a nation be born at once?"

  2. 5727 — 1967: Jerusalem and the Six-Day War: Nineteen years later, in another Hebrew leap year, Israeli forces captured East Jerusalem, including the Old City and the Western Wall. Remarkably, 5708 and 5727 were separated by exactly one nineteen-year Hebrew calendar cycle.

  3. 5784 — 2023–2024: Israel's Suffering and the Call to Intercession: The devastating Hamas-led attacks of October 7, 2023, also occurred during a Hebrew leap (pregnant) year. This reminds us that pregnant years are not automatically seasons of triumph. History contains both deliverance and suffering, restoration and warfare.

4. THE CONVERGENCE — PREGNANCY AND FINE GOLD

Here is what has captured my heart. Pregnancy speaks of preparation for what is coming. Fine gold speaks of purification for what is precious. Together, they form a picture of the Bride being prepared to carry a greater weight of God's presence beginning in greater form and intensity in this year of 5787. We must no longer be satisfied with experiencing the manifestations of God while neglecting intimacy with the God of the manifestations.

The Bridegroom desires a Bride who knows His ways, not merely His works. The new wineskin requires more than new methods. It requires surrendered hearts, transformed lives, and leaders who tremble at His Word. The Holy Spirit must have complete right of way.

5. THE GOLDEN HANUKKAH — AN EXPECTATION OF GREATER LIGHTention: Hanukkah, the Festival of Dedication and Lights.

Hanukkah reminds us of the rededication of the Temple and the enduring testimony of light in the midst of darkness. Yeshua Himself was present in Jerusalem during the Feast of Dedication, as recorded in John 10:22–23.

As I reflect upon Paz, fine gold, and the refining of the Bride, I find myself carrying a special expectancy concerning Hanukkah this year. Could this be a time of renewed dedication, when the Holy Spirit calls His people to make room for the light of His presence? A fresh and powerful wave of Jewish salvations around the world!!! The Lord is drawing His Bride into a deeper revelation of Yeshua, the Light of the World?

May this be a Golden Hanukkah—not because of earthly gold, but because of the precious glory of His presence shining through a consecrated people!

It is a prophetic invitation to prepare ourselves for the King of Glory.

A FINAL PROPHETIC EXHORTATION

Beloved, do not despise the season of refining. Do not confuse hidden preparation with divine inactivity. Do not become impatient when the promise has not yet reached its fullness. The Refiner knows exactly what He is doing. He is preparing a Bride who will not merely speak about His glory but will reflect the beauty of His presence. I believe 5787 offers a beautiful prophetic picture: A pregnant year. A year of fine gold. A Bride being made radiant.

And above it all stands the promise that the knowledge of His glory will cover the earth as the waters cover the sea.The Bridegroom is coming, and even now He is making His Bride ready!

A PRAYER FOR 5787

Abba Father,

In the name of Yeshua HaMashiach, search our hearts and purify our motives. Remove everything that hinders our intimacy with You. Refine us as fine gold, not for our own recognition, but for the honor of Your name.

Teach us to wait faithfully while You prepare what we cannot yet see. Restore the fear of the Lord, renew our love for Your Word, and teach us to yield completely to Your Ruach HaKodesh. Make Your Bride radiant with the beauty of Yeshua. We pray for the peace of Jerusalem, the salvation of Israel, and a great harvest among the nations. May the earth be filled with the knowledge of Your glory as the waters cover the sea.

B'Shem Yeshua HaMashiach. Amen.
