Step 1: You Have a New Identity
Congratulations, you recently placed your faith in Jesus—(Yeshua in Hebrew) —then everything has changed, even if it doesn’t feel like it yet. Heaven has literally marked your name, and God has begun a beautiful new work inside of you. This devotional is meant to help you take your first steps with confidence, peace, and direction.
1. You Are Now God’s Child
Scripture: “To all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.” — John 1:12 The moment you believed, God adopted you. You are no longer alone, no longer searching for identity. You belong. He calls you His own.
Reflection: Take a moment and whisper, “Father, thank You that I am Yours.”
2. Your Past Is Forgiven—Completely
Scripture: “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away.” — 2 Corinthians 5:17
Your past mistakes, failures, and sins are not held against you. Yeshua’s sacrifice washed you clean. You are starting fresh.
Reflection: Tell God one burden you’re ready to leave behind.
3. God Is Now Leading Your Steps
Scripture: “In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.” — Proverbs 3:6
You don’t have to figure life out alone. Invite God into your decisions—big and small—and He will guide you.
Reflection: Ask God: “Lead me today. Show me where to walk.”
4. You Are Not Meant to Walk Alone
Scripture: “Let us not give up meeting together.” — Hebrews 10:25
Look for a Bible-believing, Holy Spirit–filled church—a place passionate for God’s Word and His presence. You need community, and the community needs you.
Reflection: Pray that God leads you to the right church family.
5. You Can Talk to God Anytime
Scripture: “Pray without ceasing.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:17
Prayer isn’t complicated. Talk to God like a Father who listens with love. Share your heart. Ask for help. Thank Him for small things.
Reflection: Pray one simple prayer: “Jesus, teach me to know You.”
6. God’s Word Will Nourish You
Scripture: “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” — Psalm 119:105
The Bible is your guidebook. Start with the Gospel of John. Read slowly.
Let the Holy Spirit speak to you.
Reflection: Ask the Lord to open your eyes as you read.
7. Your Faith Is a Journey, Not a Race
Scripture: “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion.” — Philippians 1:6
You won’t be perfect—but you will grow. God Himself is committed to shaping your life.
Reflection: Rest in the truth that God is patient and faithful.
