WE HAD REACHED THE PURPOSE

I received a post from a service in England that reminded me of moments at Striking the Ground, when we realized we had reached the very purpose for which we had gathered. No one wanted to move. No one wanted to interrupt what the Holy Spirit was doing. The program no longer mattered. The schedule no longer mattered. Human voices became secondary because His Presence had taken ownership of the room. There comes a moment when a gathering moves beyond preaching, worship, ministry, personalities, and platforms—and we simply become aware that the King of Glory is among us.

That was the cry of Striking the Ground: not to build another event, but to prepare a place where the Holy Spirit would have complete right of way.

And in those moments, we touched something of Habakkuk 2:14: “For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.” Not merely information about His Glory, but an experiential knowledge of His Glory. We had reached the purpose. And when His purpose is reached, sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is stop—and let Him be God.

WHEN THE PRIESTS COULD NO LONGER STAND.

There is a powerful biblical picture of this in 2 Chronicles 5:13–14. Solomon’s Temple had been prepared. The priests were in position. The musicians and singers were worshiping in unity. Trumpets sounded. Voices were lifted. And then something happened that no human being could manufacture. The House of the Lord was filled with a cloud.

Scripture tells us: “So that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud; for the glory of the LORD filled the house of God.” Think about that.

The priests were not rebuked for stopping. They stopped because God had taken over. Their ministry had brought them to the very moment for which the Temple had been prepared. The Glory came. And when the Glory came, human activity yielded to divine presence.

There are times when preaching is necessary. There are times when worship must rise. There are times when prayer must travail. There are times when leaders must lead. But there are also moments when everything we have been doing has brought us to one holy destination: His Presence. And when He comes, wisdom knows when to step aside. That is what I believe we tasted at Striking the Ground.

There were moments when it felt as though Heaven pressed into the atmosphere of the room. People wept. Others stood silently. Some could barely move. The awareness of His holiness became more important than anything happening on a platform. It was not about a manifestation. It was about Him.

A LESSON FOR THIS HOUR

I believe this carries a powerful lesson for the Church right now. God is awakening His Holy Bride. Not merely a busier Bride. Not a more impressive Bride. Not a Bride with better programs, larger platforms, or greater visibility. A Holy Bride.

Paul writes in Ephesians 5:25–27 that Messiah loved the Church and gave Himself for her that He might sanctify and cleanse her, presenting to Himself a glorious Church—holy and without blemish. Before the Bride is displayed in Glory, she is prepared in holiness. Before there is greater manifestation, there must be deeper consecration. Before greater Glory can rest upon the Church, there must be a people who care more about His Presence than their performance.

This awakening will produce a new sensitivity to the Holy Spirit. Leaders will become careful again. Worshipers will become sensitive again. Preachers will learn that silence can sometimes carry more authority than another sermon.

Churches will begin asking a different question. Not merely:

“What is next in the program?” But: “Holy Spirit, what are You doing?” Not:

“How do we keep the meeting moving?” But: “How do we protect what God is doing in this moment?”

There is a holy fear returning to the House of God—a fear not rooted in terror, but in love. A fear of grieving Him. A fear of rushing ahead of Him. I carried the weight of this throughout the three nights and two days. There was a fear of placing my hands upon something He has taken ownership of. The Bride is learning again how to wait.

  1. How to listen.

  2. How to yield.

  3. How to tremble at His Word.

  4. How to recognize when Heaven has entered the room.

THE BRIDE IS AWAKENING

Revelation 19:7 declares: “The marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” There is a preparation taking place. The Bride is awakening from distraction. Awakening from spiritual sleep. Awakening from dependence upon human strength. Awakening from a Christianity that can operate without the tangible presence of God. The cry is rising again: We want Him. Not simply another visitation. Not merely another conference. Not another movement carrying the name of a man. We want the Bridegroom. We want the knowledge of His Glory. We want the Holy Spirit to have complete right of way. We want gatherings where Jesus is not merely spoken about, but where His presence becomes the overwhelming reality of the room.

Perhaps this is part of the Habakkuk 2:14 activation now beginning to unfold.

The knowledge of His Glory is increasing. The Bride is awakening.

The new wine is being poured. And God is preparing a people who will know how to carry His Presence without trying to control it. There will be moments ahead when we will realize: We have reached the purpose. And in that holy moment, the greatest ministry may simply be to bow our heads, quiet our voices, surrender our agendas, and allow the King of Glory to fill His House.

“The priests could not continue ministering… for the glory of the LORD filled the house of God.”—2 Chronicles 5:14

May it happen again.

May His Bride awaken.

May His House be filled.

And may Jesus receive all the Glory.
